Design & Construction

Bradley Grillo

Bradley grew up in Freeport, sailing Casco Bay with his family and learning its harbors, tides, and unique character. He completed Harraseeket Yacht Club’s youth sailing program and later taught in the program as a teenager. During high school, he spent a semester at sea aboard the Harvey Gamage. Today, he serves on the yacht club’s board, continuing his lifelong connection to the local sailing community.

After studying mechanical engineering at Alfred University, Bradley worked for Cianbro on major energy and infrastructure projects, including the Fox Islands Wind project on Vinalhaven. He then spent ten years designing and building docks and piers and servicing moorings along the Maine coast, gaining hands-on experience with dozens of waterfront systems.

At Springtide Marine, Bradley draws on a lifetime navigating Maine’s coast, the technical demands of large-scale construction, and years of working directly on waterfront structures. He brings diligence, an appetite for learning, and a talent for finding elegant solutions to difficult problems.

Every shoreline presents a different combination of ledge, mud, cobble, vegetation, tides, and exposure to weather. Bradley’s grounding in engineering and mathematics helps him design systems that respond to those conditions with strength, flexibility, and careful use of materials where each is needed. He leads design, estimating, and construction, carrying that attention to detail from the first site visit through the finished build.

Alexis Grillo

Permitting & Business Operations

Alexis coordinates permitting, contracts, and business operations at Springtide Marine, helping clients navigate the details of waterfront projects from early planning through construction. She brings an organized, attentive approach to project requirements, client communication, and the work that keeps the business running.

Her graduate study in policy, planning, and management at the University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service informs her understanding of how projects intersect with public processes and community priorities. During ten years at Chewonki, she worked across fundraising, communications, events, and database administration, developing experience managing complex information, coordinating people, and maintaining strong relationships.

Chewonki also deepened her interest in Maine’s coastal ecosystems. Paired with the close observation she developed studying and practicing art, that experience shapes her attention to the places where Springtide works. In coordinating permitting and project planning, Alexis considers both what clients hope to accomplish and how their projects interact with the shoreline. She sees building along the coast as a privilege that calls for care and a willingness to look closely.

Michael Pauley

Marine Projects Lead

Mike brings a background in landscaping, aquaculture, and marine construction to his work at Springtide Marine. Having previously worked alongside Bradley on waterfront projects, he joined the team with experience in marine systems and has been quick to build on that foundation.

Diligent and resourceful, Mike works closely with Bradley on dock and pier construction, fabrication, installation, mooring work, and repairs. He brings a strong commitment to the team and a willingness to tackle new challenges, helping find solutions to the varied conditions each project presents.

Originally from Minnesota, Mike lived in Maryland before making his home in Maine with his wife, Sarah, and their two young daughters, Rose and Stella.
