A New Pier Takes Shape on Mere Point
Our latest pier project brought the Springtide Marine crew to Mere Point in Brunswick, where Bradley and Mike worked with the tide to bring shop-built components into place.
The work began in our Freeport shop, where we fabricated the pier components before loading them onto custom-fabricated racks for delivery aboard our barge, Arlo Alexis.
During the morning low tide, with the shoreline exposed, the crew installed the bents—the structures that support the pier. As the water rose, we floated the barge closer to shore and used our track crane to lift the pier into position atop the new supports.
The photos below follow the day’s progress, from shoreline preparation to placing the pier.
